What is the difference between stretch and common

Post by ta_yoshizumi »

Hello,

Please let me know the difference between the snapshot types (Stretch and common) that can be changed in the Veeam.ini file.

Stretch is the default snapshot type being used and is only available for EXT4 and XFS. This will create a snapshot file in portions. The size allocated per portion is defined in the veeam.ini file. When it’s not possible to use a stretch snapshot, Veeam Agent for Linux will automatically failover to use a common snapshot (which basically means that only one big snapshot file will be allocated).

U don't have to change this behavior unless you run into an issue and support may present this as a solution.
