Azure VM backup limitation?
Hi Veeam Expert,
Based on this website: https://www.veeam.com/backup-azure.html we can backup up to 10 Azure VMs with the free version of Veeam.
This is very generous indeed
May I know what's the difference between the free edition vs. Veeam Universal Licenses?
Case #04584498

Re: Azure VM backup limitation?
You can find the editions here:
https://www.veeam.com/azure-backup-pricing.html
BYOL VUL gives you better support (production support 24/7). And it can be used for other workload (example: Veeam Agent for your workstations/laptops) as well, if you don‘t need all licenses for your azure vms.
Id you have more than 10 vms to backup, you cannot use the community edition. You have to pay for each vm.
Beside that, there will be no limitations between Free License and the VUL/Paid License

Re: Azure VM backup limitation?
no, I only have less than 7 VMs that is considered as important in Azure so far.
wow, that is very generous of Azure.
Sounds too good to be true
Thanks @mildur.

Re: Azure VM backup limitation?
It‘s generous from veeam
You will have to pay for azure workloads like RAM/CPU/Storage because there is an appliance necessary. Free and paid versions need this appliance.
No problem.

Re: Azure VM backup limitation?
Yes, that does make sense.
The fee is for Azure Appliance usage for Compute and Storage resource.
I assume the support will be through this forum only, not actual production support from Veeam Technical support team.

Re: Azure VM backup limitation?
This is not a support forum.
You will have to use Veeam official support for getting help first.
You can ask here for a second opinion after opening the support case

Community Edition and NFR users can open support cases too. Such cases will be processed on a best effort basis, depending on support staff availability. As of late 2020, on average only 30% of such cases are processed due to the significant adoption of the Community Edition.
