Extend auditing possibilities

Post by anton »

With v5 we now have the ability to send audit emails when specific items are restored.
To achieve this we have to configure audit items per user / group and enable audit notifications.

Extending possibilities
  • It would be great if we can extend this audit to all users/groups; just to make sure that no one is accessing the wrong information.
  • For the Explorer notifications, it would be great to see what a person is browsing through. For example all contact information is available in the explorer, without opening or restoring the item

Hi Anton,

This functionality is indeed new in v5, and is a way to address specific audits. However, we specifically designed it to catch views/ restores and so on for specific groups (call it C-level :-)). Otherwise the recipient of these emails would have a fun day browsing through all the emails :-). It is specifically designed for CIO's to review those specific users.

That said: I think this is one approach, but another one would be to restrict browsing of certain data by certain users. And I believe that should be another path we look into instead of enhancing the audit possibilities.

Thoughts?
