Failed to retrieve license for users
Hi, I have the same problem.
2 users, one has M365 standard and the other M365 basic. I want to backup only Mail.
When I do this:
$org = Get-VBOOrganization -Name "yourOrganizationName.onmicrosoft.com"
Get-VBOLicensedUser -Organization $org
in the Veeam-Powershell i get empty result (just next line) even though we have a valid license file for the installation (50 users).
What to do next?
thank you!

Re: Failed to retrieve license for users
Hey Alexander,
The method that you mentioned, Get-VBOLicensedUser, should not produce an empty line.
Are you sure that nothing important is commented out/in quotation marks/etc?
Could you share your full script?
Also, have you already submitted a support case to investigate this issue?
Thanks.

Re: Failed to retrieve license for users
Hi Alexander,
Just to clarify, does it work for you with Name parameter mentioned in Get-VBOLicensedUser method description?
Also, if it fails like in this thread, could you specify which subscription you use?
Thanks!

Re: Failed to retrieve license for users
Hi,
Acutally, it can produce an empty result as this cmdlet will return the licensed users in VBO, not the licensed users in M365. Did you create a backup for those 2 users and let it run once?

Re: Failed to retrieve license for users
get-vbolicenseduser is enough. Keep it simple.
And Mike is right. No consumed lics without a successfull backup job.

"Did you create a backup for those 2 users and let it run once?"
Yes, but the job failes at "26.08.2021 00:01:05 :: Failed to retrieve licenses for 2 users". the job then stops. It seems I do can backup a sharepointsite but not the users (and hence not their email).
I dont find a way around that "missing" license. The backupuser used for that in M365 is a global admin - does it maybe miss a permission to read the licenses?
