Hi Esko, as mentioned above, there're no specific plans at this point, but your voice is added to the number of other requests in this thread.

[MERGED] Feature request: backup Sharepoint online and OneDr
Hi all.
I'm trying your new product Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365.
It's very well done and simple to use, congratulations!
Are you developing a product to backup other items of the Office 365 infrastructure, as Sharepoint online and OneDrive for Business?
I'm looking for these solutions, too
Please let me know, thanks.
Bye, Morgan

OneDrive support would be a plus. We are a service provider and also partner with DATTO. They offer Backupify as a O365 solution and it does OneDrive. But having multiple options for customers is a big plus.

Re: Feature Request - Backup of Office 365 Sharepoint
We are just dipping our toes into the O365 waters at the moment. We are starting with local device installs tied to internal cloud storage and OneDrive disabled. We will be slowly expanding this out to make use of OneDrive, then possibly O365 Exchange, and finally O365 Sharepoint. At this point we're trying to put together an internal roadmap but being able to have the backup features from Veeam already available when we make each implementation transition would be great. So for us, the next Veeam O365 functionality should be OneDrive support.

Re: Feature Request - Backup of Office 365 Sharepoint
Hi We too would love to see this feature.
We currently use a product from Metalogix to back up OneDrive's which works well but like others we would like to see our SharePoint and OneDrive tenants backed up with the rest of the infrastructure instead of running a separate product.
We currently have approx. 720 OneDrive users average of 1gb per user but with some a high as 30-50gb (we will be implementing quotas soon)
We have 12 SharePoint sites at approx. 1.5TB with pans to add a further 3TB
SharePoint for us is archive but accessed daily so if MS lost our info we would be ok except for the downtime.
Onedrive is our priority. Our current solution works but as mentioned before we would love to have a single solution for everything.
We backup on-prem and the current task takes approx. 3 days to do a full backup of OneDrives and 5-6 hours for incremental which we run weekly.
Hope this helps - can't wait to hear it announced on the roadmap!!

Roisin,
Can you tell me what functionality Metalogix offers? How does it protect and how / what are you able to recover? This would make us better understand the restore requirements
Thanks
Mike

Re: Feature Request - Backup of Office 365 Sharepoint
Hi Mike,
For functionality it offers backup from any of the following sources - SharePoint 2007 onwards, Exchange Online, Skype, OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox and other hosted storage services.
Backup for SharePoint (including OneDrive) and Office 365 (Mailboxes) as well granular recovery from SharePoint and Office 365.
There is no compression so the size of the data in cloud is the size of the storage required. Given we intend to implement quotas for OneDrive and SharePoint is archive data this is not so much of an issue for us now, but could be should we switch to cloud backup and have the added cost of cloud storage.
We took the product as we had inherited 4 SharePoint farms varying from WSS 3 to MOSS and this tool was able to migrate to SharePoint Online with almost no effort on our part - we then upgraded to take the backup side of it too as we await our must trusted backup vendors to offer a solution.
Need anymore let me know and will try to provide it.

[MERGED] Feature Request - Backup OneDrive for Business
Hello All,
Enterprise Plus & backup fanatic here. Is there any current plans on being able to backup OneDrive for Business? Our agency uses OneDrive for business more then their home directories at this point. We have over 1.5TB of data there with over 1500 users and I lose sleep at night not being able to back this up with Veeam. If this is not on the horizon please consider this request!
Thanks!

Re: Feature Request - Backup OneDrive for Business
Craig,
Noted. This is indeed being requested already a few times and we are investigating. (But no promises at this point in time ). Some follow-up questions:
1. Another request is also for SharePoint. Are you using that in O365 or not? (And if you do, what is most important )
2. How do you see the restore? Like our file explorer?
Any feedback is appreciated
Thanks
Mike

Re: Feature Request - Backup of Office 365 Sharepoint
If there are plans to support OneDrive for Business and SharePoint, can it be made to work with Teams and Office 365 Groups as well? They're basically all SharePoint behind the scenes, and it would be a great way of archiving the files related to a Team/Group when it completes the work it was created for.

Re: Feature Request - Backup of Office 365 Sharepoint
Hi,
Teams and Groups are a bit more than SharePoint alone. But we are certainly not saying no to it, it might probably take more time as groups is a Shared Inbox, Shared Calendar, SharePoint Document Library, Shared OneNote Notebook, SharePoint Team Site and Planner. But we are looking at it and it might be that some parts of this can be protected if we protect the separate components. But this is not certain yet at this point in time

Just another +1 on this - I have a number of customers of varying sizes who would be interested in OneDrive for Business backups.
(I hate doing the "me too", but it does feel like to be a true O365 backup product you need to cover the full suite)

We currently use Avepointe for onedrive and Sharepoint Online Backups. These features need to be incorporated if you want to gain the business once the free trial expires in 1-2 years. There is absolutely no reason for us to pay for two solutions. Id prefer it to be VEEAM from an ease of use aspect and simplification.

Michael,
Yep, we know we need to deliver this and we are in a planning phase. The biggest issue I see now is to decide what comes first .
But I do assume that OneDrive and SharePoint will be delivered sooner than the 2 years. It will depend (as always) on different factors but we understand loud and clear the need for it
(And thanks for preferring Veeam )

Re: Feature Request - Backup of Office 365 Sharepoint
Hi There,
Just wanted to put my name on the list here.
Sharepoint 365 and Onerdrive VEEAM backups would be excellent to have, ideally in the next 6-9 months as more and more of our clients are moving to office 365 and then realizing that they don't have any guarantee of restore points. We actually have some(including internally) right now that would use it if it was available.
Cheers

Tobias,
Good to know. Thanks. Can you tell us (and maybe even ask your clients also) if they have specific requirements for those workloads?

I need backups for O365 Sharepoint and Onedrive as well. We're moving to the cloud soon, I need backups of them, and I really don't want to have to use another solution to manage those backups.
Please make it happen!

Grant,
Any change you can share some timelines with us? I am certainly not saying that we promise to deliver against a certain time but it is interesting for us to learn how companies are moving and how they see timelines. (The size of the migration would also be very interesting...) If you don't want to share with the world, I perfectly understand but I can always ask right
