Feature Request / Restore Operator Console / Case # 06378699
Good morning
In the Restore Operator Console, non-person sites (SharePoint) cannot be restored. Only personal sites can be restored.
Does anyone know when this feature will be available?
Many thanks

Hi Roger and welcome to Veeam Forums,
This functionality is already available in the Restore Portal.
If you log in to the Restore Portal as a regular user, you only get access to your own data. But if you're a restore operator and your role is configured to allow you to access specific sites (or all sites in a tenant, or the entire tenant), you can browse and restore items from backed-up non-personal sites.
Thanks!

Hi Roger
May I ask, what is the restore operator console?
We can use Veeam Explorer and our Restore Portal to restore from the backups. I assume you mean the Restore Portal?
With the Restore Portal you can restore content of non-personal sites if you assign the restore operator role to a user:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbo36 ... tml?ver=70

Best,
Fabian

Re: Feature Request / Restore Operator Console / Case # 06378699
Hi
Thanks for the quick answers. It affects the Restore Portal.
I have received the following answer from support:
Hello Roger,
Thank you so much for the screenshots.May I ask, is this a non-personal site or personal site? Looking in Veeam Explorer for SharePoint, it seems to be a non-personal site, and in the restore portal we can access only personal site and OneDrive.
The answer amazed me!
But I have the feeling that it is due to the number of files in this folder.
First comes the message: The Limit of 2000 items is reached. Narrow your search.
If we then search for the folder in the search function
we get the message no Data.
Are we using the search in the wrong way?
Best regards,
Roger

Re: Feature Request / Restore Operator Console / Case # 06378699
Hi Roger,
Now I'm even more confused, tbh...
Changing the operator scope can take some time in larger environments, but it has nothing to do with the number of items within backed-up sites (or mailboxes, or teams, or OneDrives).
Next, the 2K limit on search results (when you do a search by keyword across the content on the selected site) indeed exists in the Portal. This message simply means that there're way too many items (files) matching your search criteria, and if the required item is still not visible among those 2K results, you may want to adjust your search criteria to narrow down your search.
Makes sense?

Hi Paulina
Our problem is that if we restrict the search with the exact file or folder name.
That we get no result. Only "no data" is displayed.
Best regards,
Roger

Hi Roger,
Are you selecting the same restore point in the portal and Explorer?

Hey Roger, please continue to work with support. But please escalate as needed because reading above, it looks like you were given a wrong answer in the beginning. What I assume is that it is a miscommunication. We have self-service users (they can restore their own mail/ archive/ onedrive and personal SP site) and restore operators (what you are using to assign restore rights to sites and teams and such...)
I assume that the support technician has discussions self-service user and not restore operator with you
