Hello,
I would like to propose the implementation of a feature that enables the throttling or limitation of a tenant's requests on a per-tenant basis rather than at the proxy level. i believe this might be easier to apply in future releases. However, facilitating the ability to regulate job execution, thread allocation, and transfer speeds specific to individual tenants would alleviate numerous issues arising from throttling incidents attributed to Microsoft.
Consider the following scenario: Suppose there are four customers utilizing a proxy, each concurrently executing their respective jobs, resulting in a total throughput of 1 GBit and 256 threads. Under normal circumstances, this setup operates smoothly as each tenant is restricted to utilizing no more than 25% of the total available bandwidth. However, should only one customer be actively running their processes, they would have unrestricted access to the entire bandwidth, potentially leading to throttling by Microsoft.
Making this possible using the GUI allows us to adjust the bandwidth allocation for individual customers without stopping the service. By capping the bandwidth and thread usage of a single tenant to 25% while leaving the remaining bandwidth available for others, we could ensure uninterrupted operations for all customers. It's important to note that variations in the number of licenses / API calls further compound this issue, particularly for smaller customers with limited user bases, such as those with only 100 users.

Re: [Feature Request] Limiting per tenant
Hi Kim
Thanks for your request.
Our upcoming release will bring an architecture change regarding proxy server and enhancements regarding SharePoint site processing. I suggest waiting and testing the new capabilities of Veeam Backup for Microsoft v8 for your service before we proceed with discussing this request in our team.
Best,
Fabian
