Using PowerShell to initiate M365 backup objects ?

Post by albertwt »

Hi Team,

My existing current Backup provider (email attached) does not support the backup job management using PowerShell, despite the API having been published on their website.

Now, I wonder if Veeam Backup Agent for Office 365 (VBO), the paid version can have such a feature using the PowerShell https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbo36 ... tml?ver=60

How can I initiate the full/incremental backup for just one username only for example First.LastName@Mydomain.com has all of these components:

Code: Select all

Microsoft Exchange
Including: Mail, Calendar, Contacts and Tasks

Microsoft Groups / Teams
Including: Conversations, Calendars, Sites, Apps, Channels, Metadata

Microsoft SharePoint
Including: Sites documents and Libraries

Microsoft OneDrive
Including: Personal sites documents and Libraries
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
Start-VBOJob starts a whole job (not for individual objects)

What is the technical background of the question? Did you run into any limitations? Or is it more like "I want to do it only for one mailbox, because I only need it for one mailbox now"?

Best regards,
Hannes

Yes, @HannesK,
"I want to do it only for one mailbox, because I only need it for one mailbox now"?
I am trying to perform the full backup for just one particular user only, as part of my user Offboarding script using PowerShell.

with off-boarding... assuming you run daily backups, I would just wait a day instead of doing any scripting :-)

Yes, that does make sense @HannesK,
So hopefully this feature can be made available in the future.
