Hello All.
We have been using O365 V6 for a while and it is working well. We upgraded to V7 and that is well too. However, I have a question. At the moment the O365 target repo is a LOCAL location on the BDR server. We were hoping to be able to keep that repo and do a backup copy job to Object Storage. Is this not possible? It seems it is likely Local OR Object and not both.
Perhaps we need some sort of Object hardware device like a Minio or similar. But we were not planning on that.
Basically, we were hoping Object would provide us with a secondary repo from local. Right now we are using VBR to backup the VM holding the O365 repo to another location.
Thanks again
Dave

Re: V7 Backup Target question
Hi Dave
Backup Copy is only possible from Object Storage to Object Storage. Jobs pointing to Jet db based repositories cannot be used as a source for a copy job.
I recommend to start checking out object storage as repositories when you start replacing your current local storage solution.
New repository features such as immutability in V7 most likely will be developed for object storage only.
Best,
Fabian

Re: V7 Backup Target question
Thank you Fabian.
Honestly, I think object is a better option anyway going forward and we will focus on moving in that direction.
Much Appreciated.
