Veeam Backup for M365 feature requests

Post by martynh »

We use Veeam backup for M365 as the backup engine for our SAAS backup platform. Probably the biggest headache we encounter is to do with sorting and filtering, where we tend to return all records and sort and filter within our API. This obviously doesn't scale well, so I wanted to submit some feature requests that will hopefully be considered:
  1. Getting Backup Jobs: add paging, add filter by status https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbo36 ... tml?ver=60
  2. Backup Job Items (selected Items): add paging, add filter by type (user, group, site, team) and filter by email, username https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbo36 ... tml?ver=60
  3. Backup Job sessions: add filter by date from/to, add filter by status https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbo36 ... tml?ver=60
  4. Backup Job session logs: add filter by Status, add freetext search https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbo36 ... tml?ver=60
  5. Restore Outlook: add a filter by email address, add freetext search https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbo36 ... tml?ver=60
  6. Restore OneDrive: add a filter by email address, add freetext search https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbo36 ... tml?ver=60
Thanks
Martyn

Hey Martyn,

Thanks for the feature requests. As a service provider, are you using the Veeam service provider console? We have a beta at the moment (please request your local SE/ SA for it) together with a tech preview for VB365 vNext. We have made enhancements to our API's specifically for it so it would be great if you could test it out. Also, all data that VSPC gathers from VB365 is through public API's so you should be able to get it also for your own portal.

Last but not least, since you are a Veeam certified service provider, you can get into the dedicated service providers forum by doing the following:

To apply for the VCSP forum, go into the User Control Panel of this forum, select User Groups in the tabs, select "Veeam Cloud Service Provider” and finally the “Join selected” option. As soon as your email address is verified to be part of the Service Provider domain, your application will be approved.

Thanks Mike, the MSP side of our business does use Veeam service provider console. We are looking at integrating Cirrus with other Veeam tools using Veeam service provider console so we could look at making the switch at the same time but I expect it would be a fair amount of work. I'll ask our dev team to investigate!
