The first beta for Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 is out !!! This post contains all of the necessary information to get Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 up and running in your environment and begin to provide us with some great feedback.

Product Features
Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 allows you to store Office 365 Exchange mailbox items to an offline repository and then to browse and restore these items. By utilizing Veeam Explorer for Microsoft Exchange individual item recovery is possible, these items include mailboxes, folders, messages, tasks, contacts and so on. The tool can run on a physical or a virtual machine that meets the system requirements.

Requirements
1. All subscriptions offered by Microsoft Office 365 plans are supported.
2. Windows 2008 R2 SP1 and later Operating System is required
3. Microsoft Outlook is required if you plan to export mailbox items to PST files using Veeam Explorer for Microsoft Exchange.

An additional item of note:

Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 Beta 2 and Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 Public Beta contain different versions of Veeam Explorer for Microsoft Exchange. It is needed to stand up a separate server for the installation and testing of the new Office 365 tool in your lab environments.

The fix for several most common issues discovered in this beta version is available here. Installation steps:

1. Close Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 and Veeam Explorer for Microsoft Exchange.
2. Stop Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 service.
3. Replace files from the zip archive into Veeam Backup for Office 365 and Veeam Explorer for Exchange installation folders.
4. Start Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 service.

We would also appreciate if you could share some job stats on the forum: amount of mailboxes, job performance and duration, repository size.

Backup to: Dell MD1200 on remote server / UNC Share (1Gbps internal network)
Initial Backup Time: 24 Hours~
Delta Backup Times: 40Mins~ (At weekend with low traffic - this may increase with more mailbox activity)
Repo Size on disk: 219GB
