Hi,
currently we have a customer that uses VBR and we are a service provider storage for their backup copy, via Cloud Connect, and Proxies, etc.
If the same customer was then wanting VM365 to backup directly to us, is that possible in the current scenario? Or will I need to provision local storage for them, and then backup copy that data to us?
Is what I'm asking even making sense? I'm taking over an existing setup and while most of it I can work with, the VM365 is a new one for me. I have done installs to local storage, and to AWS, but not to a SP storage.
Please help!
thank you

Re: VM365 to Service Provider storage
Hi Brad
Cloud Connect is not supported as a backup target for VB365.
Does the customer have block storage for the backups? Then they can send a copy to your cloud connect environment with a Veeam Agent or with a VM level backup job.
If they use object storage, you can only use backup copy jobs to archive object storage in AWS or Azure.
Thanks
Fabian

I suggest to check out the option to provide VB365 as a service for your costumers. You can install VB365 completely in your environment and do manage and monitor the backups for all your customers in your datacenter. For restores, you can provide access to the build in restore portal. If the same customer was then wanting VM365 to backup directly to us, is that possible in the current scenario?
Thanks

Re: VM365 to Service Provider storage
Thanks Fabian,
The the VB365 in our environment was also where I thought it might end up too on reflection. I'd discounted it a little as I was unsure how I could then give the customer access to the console to do their own checks\restores as they want.

Re: VM365 to Service Provider storage
You can read more about the restore portal here:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbo36 ... tml?ver=60
It doesn‘t allow to check for backup job status, but it allows the user todo restores.
If you are a service provider, please add yourself to the service provider user group. We have some things on our roadmap around service provider solutions which will be discussed in the hidden service provider subforum.
