2nd repo in another region

Post by hbilke »

Ave collegae!

Now it is time to handle Azure Backup. Ploughed thru the vids and got almost up and configurable, but there are two resources to back up and they are in different regions. Made the setup w/wizards and have repo and V2-resource in the same region BUT the still productive V1 of the resource(s) is within another region and fo cost sake (I assume) it would be better to define another repo in the same region.

Do I have to setup another appliance in the new target-region or is there a way to just configure a new repo there? As far as I can see there is no choice (WebUI) and/or within B&R.

I have to admit that I'm not very used to the stuff within Azure besides M365 things.

Salve!

Hi,

If you go through the new repository wizard, you can select the location based upon the Storage account (see the user guide for more information).

You can add as many regions as you want and there is no need for an appliance per region.

Let me know if this clarifies things or if you need additional help.

Hi,

one step further - but now there are errors or warnings: thought the workers should be within the given networks - but the possible networks won't fit. "the service endpoint from ... to ... Microsoft.Storage doesn't exist"

Me thinks the YT-videos are based on the very basic setups and hence using the demo because the more complex setups are event to complex to show........

I am not sure which YouTube video you are referring to but Veeam supports both simple and complex setups.

I can point you out to some pages in our user guide which may help here. These forums aren't meant to replace our actual support (which you can always contact for easier insight) but are used for technical questions, basic assistance and sharing your feedback/request.

First, make sure that all account permissions are correct and that the required ports are configured. Second, you'll have to configure the workers with the required network settings.

If you did all this and are still facing an issue, you can open a support case for insight on your setup/configuration (as it is hard to figure out sometimes via the forums). If you do open a case, can you let us know the support case ID for future reference?

Thanx for your patience. It's not a problem that communication won't work - it's the mere abundance of points to check. One time giving an amount of 12 - the next time 16 Dollars/Euros/... to pay and no obvious difference. I'll engage the support, thanks for the advice.

Happy new year
