Bad Request (400)

Post by Daithi »

Hi,

We're seeing about 11 users get these errors. All show folders. I've checked the forums and this might indicate SharePoint AV, but that seems to be point to individual items, not folders?

Processing OneDrive Username (https://esriie-my.sharepoint.com/personal/username) finished with warning: Failed to backup item: /personal/username/Documents/Test, The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request.

I'll log a support call in any case but just wondering if I'm missing anything

Thanks

Hi Daithi,

Right, the error indicates that VBO cannot access some individual files, and AV is one of the most common reasons for that.
You can also do a quick check and try to open the affected files directly from OneDrive.

Thanks!

Thanks, so the fact that's showing folders is irrelevant, it could be the same AV issue? That's fine. Is it best to check this via OneDrive on Web?

Actually, it seems like these folders are actually other people's folders that have been shared with that user?

My bad, I overlooked the point that the error message only specifies a folder. Still, it's worth checking it via the Web, and please continue working with support.

Thanks!

Any news on this?
We have the same problem - you can reproduce by "Add Link to my OneDrive" within a folder in SharePoint Online.
The Error occurs on those linked folders within OneDrive Backup!

Results in:

Florian,

Please contact support. I am a bit surprised you get it now since the error automagically (:-)) disappeared. However, if you are still suffering from it, support can help you.

Hi Mike,

thanks, i'll open an support case.

We'd like to minimize Warnings/Errors that need to be investigated manually, so it would be great to ignore/hide those warnings in onedrive backup, that might not need further investigation as these linked files/folders are already backed up within sharepoint backup. So the error/warning still persists an did not disappear magically although i can reproduce this warning? ;)

Florian. Should be OK. We have a way of dealing with it. It seems that MSFT is rolling it out region per region. Considering that the first region with the issues is not seeing it anymore, I figured they stopped deploying it but apparently they are not.

The fix shall also be included in the upcoming 5b release, which is due very soon

When I say soon it can be one or two weeks, can you remain with this issue until that long?

Hi Everyone,

The hotfix is indeed now available via support. There's no specific fix number to ask for, you need to describe the issue and our engineers will provide you with the instructions.

Thanks!

I'm getting the same exact issue when it comes to multiple Teams Sites. Error: Failed to process team:. Value cannot be null. Parameter name: token. The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request. I have yet to open a support case as I'm still waiting for a call back to speak with a technician.

[MERGED] zero byte file on Sharepoint Online causing Bad Request error

Post by vnewbie99 »

Hi,

I notice It looks like I have files with zero byte on my SharePoint Online site which causes Bad Request errors. Is this expected? Is there a workaround to skip such warnings? I am hoping to skip such errors and be able to see the real status of my daily backup. Currenlty it's always Warning because of the zero byte files. I will also find out from data owner to see whether they can avoid creating such zero byte files. An example of the message in my alert email:

Processing site ... finished with warning: Failed to backup item: /.../9DDE3610, The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request.

Thank you.

Hi @vnewbie99,

could you please specify the version you use?
Please also check this thread, might be the cause of your issue.
Anyway, for the logs analysis you will have to open a Support ticket. When you open it, please share your case ID.

Thanks!
