5.0.2.230 double email notification after upgrade

hi,
i just upgraded my server to the latest version, after that i'm receiving double emails for each completed job in veeam.
is this a bug or is there a section added where im specifying to send alerts twice now?

Check under Tools -> Options and there is a global e-mail setup there and also Right click any of your jobs -> Properties -> Next until "Backup Destination" Page -> Advanced Button -> Notifications Tab

I have it in both areas flagged, should I only flag it in one and not the other. I only ask because it's how I always had it setup, the result only changed after the upgrade.

Yeah you want to flag one or the other. The tools -> Options will give you an e-mail for all your success/failure/warning and on each job is if you want to monitor a specific job.

In the case of Copy files job mail notification, everythin is normal.

Wondering if anyone has come across this.

On four backup jobs I am getting duplicate emails reporting a succesful backup. When I say duplicate I mean two emails that appear to be reporting the exact same thing. I am new to Veeam and it is something I am investigating that was setup by another sysadmin.

Hello,

I'm not sure if this is a bug but let me explain the situation.

There is a general section within veeam to add a email address for mail notification, and beside of that there is also a per job section for email notification.
In my example I had put my own email address in the general section but also on the per job section. At that moment I was not sure about it, so I put on both places.

As a result I was getting all the results twice.
So that was not so nice. I think the enhancement must be too merge the email addresses and sent only once per notification.

Tristan, thanks for the feedback. Yes, it makes sense not to send notifications twice if there are duplicate email addresses in the recipients list.

Hello,

My question is regarding email notifications when a backup job has completed. I have been setting it up on the "Notification" tab in the "Advanced Settings" box. However, I get duplicate notifications when a job completes.

Yesterday, I had to stop all backups by selecting "Disable Job". However, today I received a ton of notices telling the jobs did not complete???

Please advise...

There are two places where you can configure notifications:

1. In the GUI under Options where you enable e-mail notification there are checkboxes for Notify on success, warning and error.
2. The notification within the job properties.

Just unselect one of them.

Maybe you configured the destination email address both in the general options AND in the single job? If all notifications needs to go to the general email address, you can enable email notifications inside jobs without repeating the email address.
