Anti-malware scanning best practices

Post by cyc »

Are there any articles or best practices for VEEAM backup and replication in conjunction with Anti-Malware scanning? We've got VEEAM installed on Windows 2003 Servers and Symantec Endpoint with Realtime and scheduled scanning. Obviously, Anti-Malware software is resource intensive, but I'm more concerned about corruption of VEEAM. Specifically, does anything need to be excluded from scanning? Thanks for your input.

Aside of reducing backup performance, such software should not affect Veeam (at least I do not believe any issues were reported or observed before). Thanks!
