Application-aware VSS over NAT

Post by Memmy »

Good morning,
I'm having a problem with an offsite replication through a natted VPN.
Remote LAN address is 192.168.0.X and natted is 10.100.16.X, everything works fine until I'm using VSS. The local backup server tries to connect to the remote VM with the 192. address instead of the 10. and so it doesn't find the VM and the replication fails. Is there any way to solve this problem ?

thanks!

Marco, could you please tell us a bit more about your setup and what error messages do you get in your replication jobs? Thanks.

If Veeam backup job fails to connect to the backed up VM via network to do "application aware image processing" it failovers to network-less engine via VMware Tools (VIX API), so network connection is not mandatory to run your jobs with VSS option enabled. I believe there should me something else that prevents you from having successful backups.
