AWS Storage Gateway - Free space issue

Post by scidoner » 1 person likes this post

HI guys,

Maybe a bug?

I am using AWS Storage Gateway for offsite backup.

The gateway presents an NFS share to a Linux machine that I use as a repository in Veeam (added as Linux server).

Problem is, because its in AWS S3, storage is technically unlimited, so it presents an 8 EB sized volume to the Linux host:

Code: Select all

10.0.0.3:/aws-s3-veeam01 nfs4 8.0E 0 8.0E 0% /mnt/nfs/aws-s3-veeam01
Unfortunately, Veeam cannot deal with the number and when adding the repo its -8.0 EB, and after that its 0 B total and 0 B free space.

Everything works but you get warnings each time the job is done about repo low on space.

Hi Scidoner,

This is most likely a bug indeed. Could you create a support case for this? I know that you said everything works so most likely not that urgent but still, something that we want to fix ;-)
Please post the support case # here and the follow-up with our engineers after that
Cheers and thanks
Mike
