Backing up a Windows 7 machine

Post by chg_it »

Hi all,

We recently purchased Veean Backup & Replication, and are running v4.1.1.

I am having problems backing up a Windows 7 VM. I can back up all my 2003/2008/2008 R2 servers, Exchange, SQL, and Windows XP with no problems at all.

I have three VM's are running on local storage on vSphere 4 boxes (fully patched) - 2 x Windows XP, and 1 x Windows 7. The two XP boxes back up fine, but the Windows 7 box produces this error:

0 of 0 files processed

Total VM size: 232.91 GB
Processed size: 0.00 KB
Processing rate: 0 KB/s
Backup mode: NBD without changed block tracking
Start time: 08/06/2010 15:02:14
End time: 08/06/2010 15:02:22
Duration: 0:00:07

Cannot collect metrics about the guest's operation system.
Cannot connect to the remote registry.
Win32 error:The network path was not found.

VMware tools is installed and running.

Any ideas?!

Thank you!
