Hi there,
We are using Veeam B&R 6.1 together with VMware vSphere 5.1. We are backing up approx. 200 VMs every night using reverse incremental backups. CBT is enabled on all VMs.
We have the requirement to replicate a set of VMs (not all) from our production environment to a standby host. However, these VMs are also backed up every night.
Will this work and, if so, are there any special things to be considered?
(We are asking this because of CBT. With CBT, the blocks that are changed in a VMDK file are logged. When the backup is completed, the CBT log is removed. Now when the replication job accesses the CBT log, not all changed blocks since the last replication can be read but only the blocks that were changed since the last backup.)
Thanks in advance and best regards,
Josef.
