Dear Community,
Sorry for this noob question but i feel kind of lost on this.
I've read the documentation, but i can't figure if i'm right or not
I'm working on a new infrastructure, which is a classic veeam server, with an "automated HSM" storage.
I a have multiples backups job that backup my VMs : no problem. ( )
But, for archive purpose, i would like to have, every week : a copy of all my backup, put on a special repository (Which is then, manage by the HSM storage and archive to tapes), and with a 2 years retention
In my configuration : i (For the moment) cannot directly backup from Veeam to tape.
So my question : how do i manage to create a copy of my backups, every week, and that those copies remain accessible for the next 2 years.
For the moment, i've done a Backup Copy Job :
- which take backups that are 7 days olds
- Keep 96 points (4 weeks * 12 months * 2 years)
- Ask Veeam to delete file older than 750 days
Is this correct ?
Thnaks

Re: Backup Copy and Archiving
Hello Tommy,
The plan looks good if you need more details on GFS retention in the backup copy please refer to this KB article.
As for backup to tapes, indeed, we do support backup to disk to tape approach, so once the backup is stored on disk storage it can be archived to tape.
