Backup Copy Concerns After Upgrade

Post by tthomas1@ebsco.com »

Hello,
I am planning an upgrade of Veeam B&R from 12.0.0.1420_20230412 to 12.1.2.172_20240515. I happened to notice the following two message board threads and wonder if I should wait. These exact issues don't match my environment (backup copy jobs don't go to a cloud provider, we don't use replication), but two slowness issues makes me wonder if there are others with the latest 12.x release. Does anyone know?

Hello

First link: Replication does not use the same technology as a Backup Copy Job. Therefore the topic is irrelevant to your question.

Second link: Still under investigation by our customer support together with our QA team. So far that customer is the only one who has reported (which I’m aware off) that specific issue.

We have thousands of customers running v12.1.2. We would have many more complaints if slow backup copy jobs with v12.1.2 is an issue.

Best,

Im still here doing that ticket. Im able to reproduce the problem slow transfer to cloud from ReFS but fast transfer to cloud with NTFS to same cloud provider. They're currently thinking its the cloud provider but I can duplicate this issue between two providers. I think its a slow ReFS read speed problem with the veeamagent. I'd also like to mention I have a Veeam 11 reading SMB from the same ReFS storage that writes to my cloud provider at very high speeds.

It looks like the problem is already solved (change of "Use multiple upload streams" settings):
