Backup Copy Job Workload - v12
Hi all,
why is it not possible to add a single VM on copy job in v12?
Managing it with exclusions is almost impossible without reviewing the configurations all over again....

In V12 you can create a Job with just this VM, and after that create a copy of this Job.

Re: Backup Copy Job Workload - v12
Hi Marco
Backup Copy jobs were redesigned to provide a single job for all image based workloads.
There is no infrastructure for Agent backups. Therefore "from infrastructure" will not come back.
You can follow Porto's suggestion and do a one-time migration of those jobs.
1) Create new Backup Jobs which contains VMs to Copy and VMs to not Copy
2) Use VeeaMover to move the backups of those VMs to the Job
Best,
Fabian

Re: Backup Copy Job Workload - v12
Hi Fabian,
thank you for your reply.
Don't you think this is an important limitation?
This constrains processing all elements of a backup job in the same way for copy jobs as well.
What if I want to configure identical settings for backup jobs but different settings for copy jobs?
I'm sorry to say, but this is a major downgrade from my point of view, especially because if there is no solution you need to reconfigure job settings in a major way.

Hello Marco
Thank you for sharing your concerns.
I automatically assumed you were talking about from infrastructure. Can you please clarify how you have added single VMs to a backup copy job? from infrastructure or from backups?

Best,
Fabian

I agree with mamosorre84. We often use "from infrastructure" and select tags from here for example based on the SLA class.
While the primary job contains the complete datastore, for example, a copy job is only based on tags, such as "Copy Offsite". The option with exclusions is a real step backwards.

Hi Fabian, yes I usually use the option "from infrastructure", but also from backup allows you to do the same..the important thing is the ability to do it.
