Re: backup domain controllers
Hi David,
Everything is fairly straightforward, just make sure you're using the latest Veeam B&R version and you've enabled Application-Aware Image Processing for this VM.
Thanks!

Best Practice, Backup 2008R2 Domain Controllers
[merged]
Are there any best practice documents on backing up Windows 2008R2 AD domain controllers.
Would also be interested in any feedback on restoring DCs as well.

Re: backup domain controllers
Also, there are numerous topics discussing restore process, for example:
Veeam B&R v5 recovery of a domain controller
Domain controller restore
Restore of all dcs in a domain
Please follow these links for further reading. Thanks!

Thoughts on using Veeam to backup a domain controller
[merged]
I know in previous versions of VMWare it wasn't necessarily a good idea to backup and restore a Windows domain controller. Now that we have a tool like Veeam I'm wondering if this is still true. Everything I'm reading about setting up virtual labs and SureBackup point to the need to have a DC backed up using Veeam. Do people use Veeam to backup their DCs? Are there any gotchas that I would need to be aware of?
Thanks.
