Backup job naming convention

Post by bpayne »

I know it depends. But I am curious to see how you all are naming your backup jobs. I'm using a convention that's quite old and was defined many years ago. I know a name is just a name, but looking for new ideas and perhaps organize differently. If you would be so kind to share your naming convention I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks

Hi Brandon, one of the things to rely on while naming the jobs is how are they organized (i.e. what do you have inside). For example, if you back up VMs by some VI container, or location, or use different sets of settings, this should be somehow reflected in the job name for clarity.
