Backup Physical Windows Server?

Post by bunger »

I have a mixed environment of ESX server and a couple of physical Windows servers. I am using Veeam to backup the ESX boxes, but would like to use it to also backup the physical Windows server. Is this possible? I am thinking it isn't, but wanted to verify...

You are right, it is not possible natively. Potentially, you can use File Copy job to backup individual files from those servers. If you need your whole server backed up, what our customers are often using native Windows backup, and copy those backups to one of the VMs that they are backing up with Veeam. Hope this helps!
