backup resources availability

Post by ejenner »

Hello, probably been asked lots of times before.

When the Backup and Replication server is reporting "Waiting for backup infrastructure resources availability" - what is it waiting for?

I've found this to be an issue on one of my servers where a healthcheck completing on a backup copy job appeared to be taking up all of the backup resources as the other jobs on that server were reporting "Waiting for backup infrastructure resources availability" and waiting for the healthcheck to complete. As the healthcheck was going to take several days that stops the other jobs from running.

So I'd be interested in knowing where to add more resources so the B&R server is capable of doing a healthcheck at the same time as running other jobs.

Hello.

The message says, that some of the resources such as proxy server slots are not available, thus, the job keeps sitting in "waiting" state.
Do you have Veeam ONE installed? You can check historical proxies load there to find out the bottleneck.

For this server it is using the Veeam default proxy (i.e. itself)

I don't use Veeam One.

Probably backup proxy is occupied by other jobs.
Veeam ONE Community (free) edition also contains that functionality.
You can also contact Veeam support to find out the root case.

Hi EJ, health cheсk is performed on a repository server and is a separate task that counts within the concurrent tasks limit assigned to the repository. So I'd check the number of concurrent tasks in the repository wizard and increase it if possible.
