Backup to FreeNAS Server

Post by mbjoe »

Is there a way I can add my FreeNAS server as a Server listed in Veeam Backup and Replication so that I can create backup jobs from an ESXi server to the FreeNAS server?

When I tried to create a backup job it only let me store the backups on the local Veeam computer, however I want to backup to the FreeNAS server. Is there any way to accomplish this?

Thanks!

Basically, there are two ways of choosing NAS device as a destination target for your backup jobs. The first one is a CIFS share which should be accessible from a backup server. Another option would be using Linux box with mounted FreeNAS device. Upon mounting FreeNAS to a Linux server, add it via "Add Server" wizard and you should be good to go. Thanks!
