I have a pretty basic backup design but I'm having trouble getting the swing of things.
i have 8 VM's and 2 physical servers I'm backing up daily
i have them set to make synthetic full backups every Saturday and create a full backup monthly.
i would like to have a copyjob that will copy just the single full backup to a rotating external hard drive and have a rotation of 3 drives however my copy job seems to wants to continually copy the job every time something changes. I changed it to periodic copy and set it for 30days but it still as a schedule of continuous.
basically i want 1 month of backups on the veeam server and 90 days worth of full on the external drives. where the job runs and once complete i swap the drive out. once the 90 days have expired i would like to reuse the oldest drive again.
Thanks

Re: basic monthly copy job to external rotated harddrive
Hello,
and welcome to the forums.
You already found the periodic backup copy job, that's the correct one, yes. It runs continuous, yes. As you configured 30 days, it copies only every 30 days
For rotated drives configuration, you might be interested in https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=110 and https://www.veeam.com/kb1154 (forum search has some more threads, but I think the two should explain everything needed)
Best regards,
Hannes
