Best way to keep SQL server replicated at Provider site

Post by r0bbienz »

We are replicating a SQL server to our providers site but the replication can take 3+ hours (depending on the 99% processing time) - is there any veeam feature I am missing to get this SQL server syncing closer to live as possible? There is no way to ship the logs over to it?

Code: Select all

6/11/2018 6:06:06 AM :: Hard disk 1 (100.0 GB) 694.0 MB read at 11 MB/s
6/11/2018 6:07:38 AM :: Hard disk 2 (10.0 GB) 275.5 MB read at 14 MB/s
6/11/2018 6:08:36 AM :: Hard disk 3 (1000.0 GB) 143.7 GB read at 24 MB/s  (this took 1hr 40mins)
6/11/2018 7:50:02 AM :: Hard disk 4 (200.0 GB) 9.2 GB read at 33 MB/s
6/11/2018 7:56:15 AM :: Finalizing
6/11/2018 7:56:36 AM :: Busy: Source 54% > Proxy 5% > Network 4% > Target 98%

This finished at 11:33am - 5hr 30mins because of the processing on the providers side

Hey there Robert.

Just to clarify...are you doing this through Cloud Connect or via direct Replication to your providers site?

Hi Robert, do you have a proxy server on the target side?

So Veeam B&R is installed in the target site? Then it has at least the default proxy. My question was caused by the bottleneck stats, where target is reported as a primary bottleneck. This might be also related to the transport mode used to write data - check if hotadd is available there. I recommend asking support engineers to review the setup more closely. anyway.
