Bs Veeam V - TLS 1.2 Protocol

Post by ear_evergreen »

Good morning, the company did a network scan with Nessus Tenable and it shows the following vulnerabilities on the panel.

I would like to know if disabling the TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 protocols could affect the system in any way.

  • SMB Signing not required

    SSL Certificate with Wrong Hostname

    SSL Weak Cipher Suites Supported

    TLS Version 1.1 Protocol Deprecated
Many thanks

Hello, there are no issues with disabling the TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 protocols from the Veeam code perspective.

Network connections are established by an OS itself, which in turn always uses the highest TLS version supported by both the OS and the target host (there's a negotiation process). So the only thing disabling TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 can potentially break are network connections between hosts which do not support TLS 1.2 in the first place. For example, some older Windows OS versions without the TLS 1.2 patch installed.

Thanks!
