Bug in Malware scan with Kaspersky found

Post by hoFFy »

When using Kaspersky together with the malware scan function in Veeam this won't work. Even if you edit the AntivirusInfos.xml file and insert the values from https://support.kaspersky.com/15250#block5 (which seem to be identical with the values in the shippend .xml file) this won't work.
The problem is in line 49 with the exit code "<ExitCode Type='Error' Description='Service doesn't exist'>-7</ExitCode>
It seems that Veeam can't work with the " ' " . When I change it to "Service doesnt exist" then Kaspersky is being used.

btw.: Why isn't the Windows Defender being used? The MpCmdRun.exe from the path in AntivirusInfos.xml exists but Veeam won't use it.

Windows Defender support is integrated so it should work out of the box. Please open a support case if it does not for you.

Okay than it might have always been working but I've never tested and the only time I tried to work with Malware Scan it didn't work because of the Kaspersky thing
