Case #05387720 - Backup copy runs twice within the backup window
Case #05387720
By the way, we are using community edition, so no way we're getting support for this issue. Problem I am having is backup copy keeps running twice. Just annoying that it's already finished with previous job, and now it runs again until failing. Sometimes it finishes after 9,10,11 hours or more (the first run), then runs again right after the first one. You can't really tell schedule it properly.
Any input would be greatly appreciated since we are using community edition.
Copy mode is set to immediate copy (mirroring)

Hi Rex
It's difficult to assume what's going on here on the R&D forums. Because of that, technical issues needs a support case.
But I'll try to give it some thoughts.
Is there a reason, that you copy them only once in a week?
With Copy mode "immediate copy", veeam will copy every restore point from the source (Jobs, Repo) to the target backup repository. All restore points of the entire week needs to be copied in one night.
Your time Window is 11 hours on a Wednesday. If new backup files were created that night, Veeam needs to copy them too. So I assume, it will fail when your backup window is reached.

What is selected as a source for this job? Job? Repository? Doesn't it have any new restore point created during backup copy cycle?

@mildur, it runs nightly. Backup copy window from 10PM to 9AM the following day, when it finishes early like 8 hours, it runs again the job after couple of minutes which is what I am trying to avoid. There are no new backups from the repository as the backup runs 8PM only nightly.
@veremin, source is from job since the backup copy job is categorized per VM. No new restore point the 2nd time it runs as it only creates once 8PM.

ah yeah, that was for Wednesday backup copy job only. It's categorized daily and per VM. We also have Thursday, Friday and so on.

Can you probably post the screenshot of source job and its schedule? Or may be the screenshots of two or more source backup jobs and their associated backup copy jobs (so we get the idea a bit better)?
