CBT and Snapshot removal

Post by mwkirk »

Quick question....Should manual snapshot creation and removal affect CBT? The scenario is this....We were patching some of the VMs and did a snapshot before starting the patching process. For the most part the backups take normally under an hour. Then we removed the patch snapshot and the next backup took over 12 hours. normally there is a couple of gig read and on this one there was like 195 GB read.

Hi Mike,

Since manual and automatic snapshot creation and removal shouldn't make any difference, I don't believe that this operation should reset CBT data, however there might be something else that has reset CBT data from your VM. How exactly did you remove the snapshot? Did you perform any other manipulations with this VM?

Thanks!
