Cloud Connect Endpoint Backups

Post by thepixel »

Currently, we have a Version 9 Veeam B&R Server
This currently has one cloud connect job running which syncs a single backup job for the main file server.

I now also have Veeam Endpoint 1.5 Clients backing upto the Veeam B&R Server. Which is not part of the cloud connect job sync

I need to now Cloud Connect these offsite to a remote server. But the issue is I need to be able to seed them as it's 1TB of data and doing it on the internet is not possible for the initial sync.

How can I attempt this?

Hi,

you can copy the vbk and vbm(!) to a external hdd and import it on the remote side.
On the primary side you must rescan the repositroy after import it.

The next run will be an incremental :-)

By the way, Veeam Agent for Windows 2.0 beta (Endpoint successor) released recently supports direct backups to cloud repository bypassing VB&R intermediate step. So, might be worth trying, if of course your SPs accepts such backups, there is a special regkey for that. Thanks.
