Cloud Connect IP address restriction for specific tenants

Post by danieledrago »

Hello everyone,

I would like to restrict access to Cloud Connect based on the source IP address. I know I could achieve this using Windows Firewall rules, but my goal is to restrict access only for specific tenants.
Any ideas?

Hello Daniele

What's the use case?
Can you also explain where you want to restrict access to? Which cloud gateways a tenant can use?

For cloud gateways there might be an option already to solve your use case:
You can create cloud gateway pools and assign the pool to a tenant. The tenant will only be able to use that specific pool:

Hi Fabian, thank you for your answer.

Some of our customers have limited 4G/5G connections for failover purposes when their primary connection is down. Since cloud backups would consume a lot of bandwidth, I would like to temporarily stop cloud backup jobs when they are not using their primary connections.

Hi Danieledrago,

Isn't it better to restrict this from the source?
Maybe a static route of the gateway server adresses in the source router / firewall. In that case the static route will overrule a default route and that way you can force the landline.
