Hello,

we have the Problem that sometimes we get this Message from the Veeam Backup Server.

Connection to "Veeam Backup Service" is not available.

A few Minutes later another Backup will work.

We uses Veeam 5.0 in Virtual Mode. Virtual Maschine with Windows 2003 R2 Server with 2 CPU and 4 GB RAM. The Hotline says we have to give more CPU and RAM to the VM . It works a little bit better but not perfect.

Have anyone the same problem?

Hello, Marco,

Yes, 4 vCPUs is the recommended setting for better performance. What is your current CPU workload, by the way? Also, can you tell me your ticket number?

Has anyone found the resolution to this issue? I have the same issue, after a reboot of the server the veeambackupservice 'forgets' the password for the account it is set to login as. As soon as I retype in the password, the service will be able to start back up. But as soon as the server is rebooted, you will not be able to start that service.

I did try setting the service to login as 'LOCAL SYSTEM' but, I found this statement in a .pdf document about the Veeam Backup Service:
Veeam Backup Service is a Windows service that coordinates all operations performed by Veeam Backup & Replication such as backup, replication, recovery verification and restore. Veeam Backup Service runs under the administrator account with the Log on as service right granted.

Hi Eric, I'm not sure that you have the same issue since Marco wrote that:

...so I assume he just waits till the service gets started.

Getting back to your issue, could you please tell me if there are any related error messages in Windows Event log?
