[Non Technical Veeam Request] - Consolidation of Technical Guidance
Hi,
Strange request I know but I really believe that Veeam would benefit from streamlining the number of locations you can gain technical information with regards to the Veeam solutions.
It feels like the helpcenter should be the obvious place to go for installation and maintenance guidance, but in a few scenarios it isn't. Namely:
Scenario 1: Want to know best practices for integration with Dell EMC Unity Storage integration? You can find limitations etc within the VBR documentation, but you actually need to go to the homepage, select resources, and find a whitepaper from 2018 that Michael Cade wrote.
Proposed Solution: Either expand the helpcenter documentation to incorporate this whitepaper, or under the main helpcenter page whereby you can find release notes, datasheets etc, include a section for storage integration and link the document there.
Scenario 2: Unfamiliar with a particular Veeam feature and want to know the best way to implement this? You need to go to veeambp.com instead
Proposed Solution: I understand that best practices evolve as the real-world scenarios provide insights, but it still doesn't seem right that you need to go to a website that has a disclaimer of "This website is the creation of the EMEA Veeam Solutions Architects.
It holds no official link to Veeam Software." to find the best way to implement these features. It feels like these should be captured into whitepapers and delivered via a mechanism similar to the proposed solution for scenario 1.
I don't want to ramble on, and I hope you see the point I'm making, it'd be nice to see an effort to consolidate this information into a central Veeam resource and I believe these two topics above would be well received if they were integrated into the helpcenter.
Thanks for reading!

I like this suggestion Michael as it would be great to only go to Help site for most things but still use BP site for others.

Hi Michael and Chris,
I've passed it to technical writers team for further investigation and possible Help Center improvements. Thank you for your feedback!

yes, this is a good idea, more concise and streamlined documentation.
Thank you for the suggestion @mike.
