Correct order to update from v11 to 11a

Post by BennyDC »

Hi All,

I'm currently running Veeam B&R 11P20210401.
Goal is now to update to version 11a.

I thought before the right order was first to upgrade

Enterprise manager -> Veeam One and then Veeam B&R

Now when I download Veeam Availability Suite and I mount the Veeam B&R iso.
I see on Veeam Backup Enterprise manager upgrade backup server first.

Does this mean I need to upgrade first all Veeam B&R in all different region that I connect to my enterprise manager first and what about Veeam One?

Thanks,
Benny

Hi Benny,

The correct order is VONE --> EM --> VBR. From the top to the bottom.

Thanks

Thanks Wishr

but that conflicts with my question and the Veeam 11a upgrade
That request you to upgrade VBR before even make it possible to upgrade EM
Did you try to download the ISO and mount it?

The process has not changed in V11a, so I would recommend opening a support case to investigate the aforementioned behavior.

It is extremely important to follow the correct upgrade order otherwise you will definitely face issues some of which may not be easy to fix.

Ok I will open a support case. Could the reason just be that that there isn't an update for EM
That the update is only for Veeam ONE and VBR?

This topic is for „Veeam Backup & Replication“, not for „Veeam Agent for Linux“.

As soon veeam has updated the update server, you can use your command to update to the new „veeam Agent for Linux“ version.

I assume that you are mounting this ISO on your VBR. Is your BEM on the same machine as your VBR? If not, the installer will see VBR but won't know about BEM, so it will tell you to upgrade VBR before you install BEM.
