Hello,
I have a question about VEEAM B&R (version 9.5b) in combination with a DataDomain DD2200 with a total of 12TB memory capacity.
Via Backup Copy Job we backup the entire VMWare environment every five days and keep 2 revisions.
According to VEEAM the size is about 9.47TB.
Now we have the problem that the storage capacity of the DataDomain is running low (< 1TB) and the question is whether there is a problem with the configuration or deduplication of the DataDomain.
The backup contains two larger VMs (Exchange 1.9TB, File 1.5TB) and otherwise only very many small VMs.

Re: DataDomain configuration
Hello,
the values shown in the Veeam UI are not really relevant. Veeam does not know about the details on data reduction happening on a deduplication appliance.
https://www.veeam.com/kb1745 links to https://support.emc.com/kb/534885 with the best practices. That whitepaper should have all configuration options included.
Best regards,
Hannes
