Hello,
My customer would like to create a dedicated backup vlan and I m not sure I know really how to build veeam component.
Do I need to use them all with 1 NIC in a new subnet vlan and use routing to filter all the communications?
That means all component need acces to dns and then I use firewall port veeam documentation to know what I need to open on my firewall.
Second solution is to have 2 nic card on each veeam server (vbr server, proxy, repository, tape) 1 in management vlan and 1 backup but in DNS I will always have management record. If I use preferd veeam network on backup vlan, will it use it for backup data ?
Thanks for your help

Re: Dedicated backup vlan
Hello,
Best regards,
Hannes
that's what I would do. Dual-homed machines bypass the firewall, which sounds like a bad idea if I want to see "suspect" traffic at the firewall. I also don't like the management aspects with static routes in larger environments.Do I need to use them all with 1 NIC in a new subnet vlan and use routing to filter all the communications?
Best regards,
Hannes
