Support Case ID# 00152103
Was hoping folks would have an idea of what is going on. Veeam 6.0 on a Win2k8 R2 and ESX 3.5 host backing up to a Nirvanix Cloud NAS (basically this uses local cache for quick access and to store the backups while they upload to the cloud). Same setup on all of my other ESX hosts. The past couple weeks when this backup job runs I've been getting the following error message.
Error: Client error: A device attached to the system is not functioning Failed to write data to the file [G:\\asmusa\\ASMFILE3\\ASMFILE3 on VM06\\ASMFILE3 on VM062012-10-31T081601.vbk].
The weird thing is, the job does run quite a bit before it completes with error:
The Nirvanix Cloud NAS is working as other hosts and jobs that use it do so successfully. Logged a support case but not sure where to even start.

Re: Device Attached to system not functioning
Hello jcruz,
Do you have any errors in the Windows Event log on your Veeam VM at the same time? Is this Windows Server 2008 (Veeam VM) your only proxy/repository?
Based on the quick search results looks like this problem is a pretty common one and depending on the other information (for ex. Windows Event Log), there might be different potential ways of resolving your issue.
Thank you!
