I have a backup server that sometimes is a little slow, looks like ReFs problems.
When it is slow the process System is using 1 Core, I guess this is ReFs maintenance.
I have done some of the registry changes for ReFs, and it helped a little.
Have anyone upgraded the CPU on their server and experienced any better performance?
Now my server have a 6 core 2.1 Ghz CPU and 192Gb Ram, I am considering to upgrade this CPU to 3 Ghz.

Re: Does faster CPU helps backup speed?
Hi Anders,
Please can you provide the bottleneck stats of the job.
The CPU resources are needed for data processing and compression, so additional CPU power will be needed for higher level of compression.
But whether adding CPU can speed up the backup process depends on where is the primary bottleneck. Thanks!
