DR Planning - licensing

Post by philfreund »

If my primary data center is a total loss and I move all Veeam operations to my DR site, can I just use the B&R console to delicense the destroyed VM hosts and then license the new VM hosts at the DR site as I stand them up?

I already have a couple of VM hosts licensed on the DR site to be able to bring up my environment quickly from replicas but I will need to stand up additional hosts to restore my entire production environment over time.

Hi Phil, yes, you will be able to revoke and then assign the license to the new hosts. Remember that you need to license only hosts you're backing up/replicating VMs from.
