Since we updated to v. 11a, in Enterprise Manager, file restore history, details pane, the target path no longer displays the real file name used to restore.
The CSV file on the Veeam server shows the correct information (real name being used).
Old behavior:
- Pick server, pick restore point, pick file, In place restore -> Keep.
- The file exists, so EM restores the file with RESTORED-filename.
- In the File Restore History, in the Target Path column, it is possible to see the real file name used for the restore.
- The Service Desk user executing the restore can take a screenshot and document the restore without any special access requirements to any Veeam server nor target server.
Current behavior:
- Pick server, pick restore point, pick file, In place restore -> Keep.
- The file exists, so EM restores the file with RESTORED-filename or something else (If RESTORED already exists).
- In the File Restore History page, Target Path displays the original file name and not the one being used (file name without "RESTORE-" prefix).
- At this moment, the guy from Service Desk has no idea which file name was really being used, cannot document it, etc. and must escalate the ticket to the backup team to extract the audit CSV and attach it to the ticket.
Best regards
