I am trying to test the Exchange item restore to restore a particular email. I open the restore tool and select "Microsoft Exchange". I configured the global catalog settings and select my mailbox. When I press "Next" on the mailbox screen after loading all settings related to my Exchange server and my mailbox (before restore point screen) I get the message:
Unable to access mailbox
The remote server returned an error: (501) Not Implemented
I am running Exchange 2007 SP3.
What do I need to be able to do application item restores? Do I need to go through the process of setting up a virtual lab to do this restore? What causes this error?
Thanks.

Re: Exchange Mailbox Restore
Please review the U-AIR workflow described in the sticky FAQ topic. Generally speaking, the virtual lab should be configured beforehand and should contain all necessary VMs on which Exchange server is dependent, such as DC and DNS server. Thanks.
