Feature request - Filtering options for job history view

Post by TitaniumCoder477 »

Often I need to do precise investigation into job history and the search box is helpful but not quite enough. For example, if I search on the precise name of a particular SQL server, I get over 53 records that are a mix of "Windows SQL Log Backup Copy" and "Windows Backup Copy" session types. In addition to a generic search box at the top of job history, I would like filter selections, where I can filter by Session Type, Status, and perhaps even a date range.

Hello James,

Thanks for the feedback! Mind me asking why are you using history node to dig into job sessions? To review the successful job runs or as a regular troubleshooting step?

Hi James

When you open the session log of a Job, you can use the forward and backward arrow keys to navigste through all historical runs of this specific job. I use that often to go through the last days to see If the Job was successful or not.

I was attempting to cross reference "Incomplete" / 0 bytes points in the chain with the corresponding failures in the job run history. Stepping back through the job would have been far less productive that simply filtering, if that capability had been available.
