When you run on Replica for long time the Delta to the original VM could grow very large.
It ist possible that it would take hours to fail back from replica.
Because VEEAM shuts down both VMs while replication delta back to original VM there you have to schedule a downtime. But you can not calculate how long the downtime should be.
The benefits for VEEAM should be to minimize Downtimes.
So in this case it would be nice to be abele to sync the replica with the original VM manually while the replica VM is running.
After this process you can schedule a downtime which is predictable.

Re: Feature Request: Manually sync replica with original VM
Hi Thomas, thank you for the feedback. Just as a workaround, if you predict large amount of data is going to be synced back, you can perform permanent failover and create replication in an opposite direction, mapping the job to the original VM. In this case, further planned failover will take less time than the failback would take.
