Feature Request - Selective Warning Email Notifications

Post by Mathew Christoffels »

Greetings All,

We have email alerts specified for Warnings and Errors that occur in Veeam. Occasionally we receive notifications on Backup Jobs that have needed to retry the VSS component of the backup. The retries are successful and the backup works, but because a retry occurred the job is set to a warning state. We like turn off these retry warning notifications and keep other warning alert conditions such as "Low Disk Space on the Backup Repository" switched on.

I worked with Veeam support to look at this scenario and they did not find anything in particular wrong with our configuration. 'Wait until last retry' on the backup jobs is ticked as well. Veeam Support suggested posting a message on this forum as a feature request to be considered in future development.

Does anyone else have a deployment were some Warning messages are safe to ignore?

Hi Mathew,

First! Welcome to the forums

Second, do you have Veeam ONE? That might help you in configuring suppressing specific alarms (so you don't get the email alerts) and fine-tuning.

If you don't, take a look at this page: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... tml?ver=95
I assume suppress notifications until last retry is checked here (not sure as you say Wait until last retry).

Also check this page: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... tml?ver=95
You will see that disk space notifications are not the same as job notifications so you can play a bit with making sure that warnings are not seen.

Hope it helps
Mike
