File Copy Jobs

Post by perjonsson1960 »

Folks,

I am not sure if I understand the concept of File Copy Jobs... If I have a virtual Windows server hosted by VMware, named NT52.dir1.local, and want to copy the file...

C:\Program files\Application\Logfile.log

...from that server to a folder in the main Veeam B&R server, for example, can I do that? Do I have to add the source server NT52.dir1.local to the managed servers in Veeam? And must Veeam have direct access to that server, network wise, or can Veeam contact that server through the vCenter server? It may be apparent that I am no expert on VMware... :)

And if the source server is a physical server, I assume that server must also be added to the managed servers?

Sincerely,
Per Jonsson

Hi Per, your understanding is correct, both source and target servers must be added to the backup infrastructure and accessible over network.
